The plastic industry is the second largest user of titanium dioxide, accounting for about 20% of the total demand for titanium dioxide in the world. It is the fastest growing field of titanium dioxide application in recent years, with an average annual growth rate of 6%. Among the more than 500 titanium dioxide brands in the world, more than 50 brands belong to plastic special-purpose type.
The coating industry is the largest user of titanium dioxide, especially rutile titanium dioxide, most of which is consumed by the coating industry. The global coating industry consumes 58% ~ 60% of the total consumption of titanium dioxide pigment, and the proportion of this consumption in China is higher, about 60% ~ 65%. Titanium dioxide is a pigment with the largest amount in the coating industry, accounting for half of the cost of pigment, 90% of the total pigment consumption in the coating industry, and 10%~25% of the raw material cost of the coating.
The scientific name of titanium dioxide is TiO2.It is considered to be the most superior white pigment in the world. It is nontoxic and has the best opacity, best whiteness and brightness, is widely used in coatings, plastic, paper making, printing ink, chemical fiber, rubber, ceramics, cosmetics, food and pharmaceutical industries, it's called the "industrial aginomoto", its per capita consumption as important index to measure a country's level of economic development, is also a measure of the country's market potential evidence.
